I basicly want it to play games a lot smoother and just faster in genral.
I am a computer noob at the moment but am trying to learn.
Anyway my current specs are:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6850 @ 3.00GHz
2.00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT

If there is anything else you need to know ill find it out, sorry im a bit of a begginer right now.

No AC is alternating current, thats whats in the wall socket. If you bought that tower prebuilt from a shop, with those specs im guessing you got a cheap 400w to 500w psu.

On it it says dfs80202m i cant see how many watts anywhere

Run this and copy/post your system specs. It won't have the psu but it will have the rest. If the pc is prebuilt by a manufacturer, post the model as well.

With 1-300, don't know if this is a viable option right now because it's unknown atm if the bios will allow for any oc, and, it would still be a dual core for your games. Perhaps someone will let us know how plausable this is.

HSF - PS - GPU

The next upgrade would be the rest of the system.

to be maxing them i think we can work something out for around 800 maybe, and that'll last you a good while with good to great settings.

that would be from scratch, on your current opne the hdd would be able to come to this, but not the osm it would have to be installed off a new disk, and your cpu is good, but the ram is really pretty slow, and then the gfx card is pretty bad too.

will the current tower be fine?

I don't see why he needs a new computer. A new PSU and GPU is all that I see being required unless he wants to play at huge resolutions. That is the question that I haven't noticed being asked yet. If he is playing anything at or under 1920 x 1080, then a nice GPU and quality PSU is all that will be needed.

Assuming you have a standard ATX case then all you need is something like this:

Power Supply Unit

Graphic Card

260 quid, and will play any game at medium resolutions as discussed.

i was going with the new system option because he said this, assumed he meant highest settings and res and all.
