What computer?

What are you going to be using the computer for???

Have you considered building???

If your going AMD you can do a good build.

I agree, and all the fun is in building it. Then turning it on and seeing your creation come to life.

That is a good feeling. . . but only when you don't get dead mobo's that eat your hard drives for breakfast, and fry your CPU for lunch! I think it was probably the dead mobo and a PSU issue personally, but there ya go. Expensive lesson.

Also, much cheaper if you build rather than buy. Why has nobody mentioned price difference!? That's one of the greatest factors!

I meant finally the prices are starting to come down.

At last! Windows is semi-reasonably priced! (XP's still at £55, and Vista at £65 - if XP had DirectX 10 and support for the latest games, I'd still be there).

oh... i still use xp... it works to well for me to switch... i dont game much either though.

Lucky you! If it weren't for the DX10, and the fact that support for XP is ending soon, I'd still be back there. One of the most stable operating systems I have ever used. Only still using it on one PC, because it's not for games (Core 2 Duo @ 2.1Ghz - can't remember series - 2GB RAM, X3100 Integrated). Downgraded from Vista to XP, simply because Vista's not needed. Only games you can play on that are DX9 anyway.
