My computer uses an H-Alvorix Rs880 uATX, with an AMD Phenom IIx6 1055T processor, and I have been using the stock heatsink and fan
I have been using it for gaming, and during the winter months everything was fine.
It is summer now (and I lack air conditioning), and any graphically intensive game threatens to overheat my computer and force a restart (and some have made good on that threat). I also have an ATI Radeon 4890 card which stretches from the back of my case (a stock case. I have not yet invested in a gaming case) nearly to the front, causing me to need to remove the case side panel to allow air to actually flow through fans (is this a bad thing? should I just buckle down and buy a bigger case?).
Anyways, my actual question is:
With my motherboard and CPU, would just about any fan/sink combo fit onto my system? Are the connections for heatsinks universal? Or is there some way to identify whether a sink would work with my setup?
I can provide more system info if needed.
