what cpu can i upgrade to for my motherboard

i have a few computers, one i want to upgrade my cpu. its a dell dimension 4600, w/ a pentium 4 2.6ghz. i want to know if the bios will support a cpu w/ ht technology. when i look in the bios i dont see anything about hyper threading but then my cpu doesnt have it...would i have to flach or update my bios and how do i do that..thanks alot

You would have to go to Dell to look over the system specifications to see what model cpus it would support. For the latest bios updates you would follow the instructions seen at http://support.dell.com/support/top...027FE896C3CACE030A68F27285846&c=us&l=en&s=dhs
Dell doesn't provide on upgrading cpus but one article confirms that the model you are running supports HT. http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/0,aid,116993,pg,3,00.asp
