What CPU is better?

In our nearby computer store price list:
Which is better
Intel i7 4790 3.6GHz LGA1150
or
Intel i7 6700 3.40GHz LGA 1151 Skylake

both have same price of 302$ in my country (PhP 14,200)
Which is better of the two?

Are you building a system or buying a new CPU to upgrade what you currently have - keep in mind they are different sockets so if you have an existing Motherboard, you'll need to replace with the same socket type.

If building new or getting a new Board with it, the 6700 is newer and performance will be better.

The 6700 is better, but as Porter said it's a different socket, with the 6700 also using DDR4 RAM.

6700, but make sure you have money for DDR4 RAM, in case you already have DDR3.

Yeah and get an LGA 1151 board for the 6700.
