T TrainTrackHack VIP Member Jun 23, 2010 #2 I'd look at a Phenom II X3 or Athlon II X4, however, you'll most likely need to update the BIOS on the board before it'll handle the CPU. This looks like something you'll want. It happens to be supported by the board, but like I said, you need to make sure the BIOS version is up to date.

8 87dtna Active Member Jun 23, 2010 #3 Yes make sure the bios has the latest update first. That Athlon II 635 is a good price in AU, I'd go for that. Thats a nice upgrade, should be worlds faster than a 4200+.

Here's the F6 Bios- http://www.gigabyte.us/Support/Motherboard/BIOS_DownloadFile.aspx?FileType=BIOS&FileID=15242 Just click the Asia, the american one is slow. There is an F7 Bios, but it's a beta bios and not needed anyway since F4 and newer supports Athlon II's.
