hey guys after PC-eye helped me fix my audio, im going to go ahead and keep this board, and try to work out its problems...

The board is an MSI P6N diamond, 680i.

what i would like to know now is how to possibly get my memory stable. it is the memory in my sig, the OCZ Reaper CL3 edition. pc6400. OCZ's website specifies that i can reach the timings of 3-4-4-15 with a voltage bump of 2.4V. i have found that my computer won't even post at that voltage, no matter the speed or timings i set.

do i need to overvolt my northbridge or something, or is there some other hidden cause?

oh and my ram is only being found as single channel, i would really love to get it into dual channel

EDIT: i have it sorta stable now at 4-4-4-15 and 800MHZ, but Sandra is reporting that i have a bandwidth of 3500MBPS... wtf?

To get Dual Channel on that board you put the memory in one Green and one in the Orange slot instead of the same color like most boards

The MSI P6N Diamond has four DDR2 memory slots. You install the memory in alternating slots to enable dual channel memory support, not in the same coloured slots.

oh wow that sucks... i think my green slots are blown out, it refuses to post if a memory stick is in it.. damn.. well im gonna try it anyways

Just try it like that with the Voltage and timming set to auto. I dont know if its just me but I,ve never had to good of luck with MSI boards and OCZ memory not just together but either by there self. But I really like MSI video cards and OCZ P/S

lol thats kinda ironic, im buying an MSI 8800GT and i have an OCZ 700W PSU. (i need to update my sig, it still says XFX)

EDIT: oh and also i have found that my green slots really are blown, no post no matter the configuration :(

Bummer:( Can you still RMA it. Having 2 bad memory slots is not good. I would send it back for another one or pick a different one.
