My mom is paying me to turn all of our home videos into dvd's. But I don't want to have to go through the camera and record everything in real time. Is there a 3.5" tape player I could hook up to my computer to record in dubbing or whatever it is called? I already have Adobe Premier Pro 1.5.

Well i belive it all depends on what type of camera you mom has, and what format, the camera saved the movies as. If the camera has a tape, most likely you have to record real time (press play on camera and record through computer). If the camera has a USB port which you can connect to your computer, and stores via a flash drive or somthing of that sort you might be able to just copy the file. This all really depends on what type of camera you have. If the camera does use the tape method, then you can use a coax input, rca inputs through your video card. You will need a way to input the video though. I believe the adobe premier is for editing the footage after it is on your computer. Good luck!

Nope, a monitor OUT would allow you to see your computer on .. your tv... Go an grab a tv tuner from your local electronics store. I got a ATI tv wonder ve. It was like 35$. It allows you to plug in a COAX (cable) tv) cable and input anything. So i plug in my camera to my vcr an plug vcr into ati card.

For refernce if you want to put video IN to your pc it would be called tv/rca/digital IN, and get video out... called video out...

I wish my mother would pay me to do computer chores for her - I'd be a millionaire by now! Only last week I was acting as a telephone helpdesk for over an hour...
