what do i need

hi
i am about to buy a new desktop computer for the first time in 15 years, i normally use a laptop. i am buying the monitor from ebuyer.com, my question is about the rest of the setup, i already have 2 good 500gb external hard drives and a lightscribe cd dvd writers which i am happy with. so i need a base unit with memory, a small hard drive for the OS, a pretty good graphic card and a sound card. any recommendations for any of the above will be appreciated. i mainly use my computer for surfing, music and some games. thanks in advance
 
If I was going to buy a pre built system I would make sure it's a brand name
so there's support if anything goes wrong.

I've heard HP has good customer service.
 
Looks like it has a ATI Radeon HD 3450.

I know nothing about ATI cards, but judging by the price alone,
it seems to be a low end card. Good for simple games or higher
end games set to low graphics settings.

I would guess that you would be able to play games on that pc,
but not on high settings.

You could always buy a higher end card later if it doesn't
work the way you like.
 
I would be so daring to say that the HD3450 that the PC comes with would not be up to the task of modern computer games. What you could do is, go ahead and buy that system and then purchase a cheap graphics card like a 9800gt or something like that and swap it (I'm just thinking on a limb here though).
