What do I need....

The RG6 from the road comes into a data box into my basement....It is then hooked up to a modem, which goes to a wireless router.....The router then ditributes to 4 ports on a CAT5 bridge which gets ditributed thru the house. My house is 3 floors, 2 main and one basement..... For wireless issues, I want to move the wireless router to the main floor......

What do I need to put in the basement to replace the wireless router.....A hub, switch, or wired router ( not sure of the differences, other than price)....

How is your databox connected to your modem?

You could just get a longer wire and leave the modem in the basement and the router next to your stairs or something.

Have you considered getting another wireless router to go on the 3rd floor, creating two wireless networks?
