What do these mean?

Hey, what do the following terms mean:

Draw Distance?
Mip Mapping?
Visual FX quality?
Frame Limiter?

And I have a fair idea what anti-aliasing is. Should it be on or off?

Draw distance- How "far away" objects in the game environment are rendered. When this is set to low, if you watch one object as you move away from it, it will suddenly disappears, rather than gradually fade out of site.

Mipmapping- A technique where smaller versions of textures are saved into image files. This speeds up rendering, because rather than changing a texture depending on what distance it is being viewed from, the game can just access the smaller texture.

Visual FX- Just short for "visual effects". Usually has to the with the quality of of rendering for things like smoke, fire, water, explosions, etc.

Frame Limiter- An option that limits your maximum frames per second. Some people choose to use this in order to get a more "even" gaming experience where the graphics quality isn't changing due to the amount of things happening on screen.

I don't know if you could help me out here but if you could I would really appreciate it.

I'm getting GTA: San Andreas soon and was wondering at what settings I would be able to run it.

My specs are:
Intel Pentium D 950 @ 3.4Ghz
Nvidia GeForce 7300 GS (512Mb)
3Gb DDR2 Ram

Should I have frame limiter, anti-aliasing and mipmapping on/off?
How high/low should the visual FX be (Just a rough estimate)
And about where should the draw distance be?

Thanks so much for your help.

^I love people that only read the first post.

Anyway, it's hard to say what settings are best for a particular machine. It's better to just test and find the highest settings you can maintain without performance issues.

you already posted this, i am pretty sure of it, and in that thread you were told you met the minimum system requirements there too

Yeah, sorry, I know I already posted to see if i met the minimum requirements. But I couldn't find easy to understand answers on wikipedia on what those terms meant.
And now just wondering if I should start out with them high or low.
Thanks anyways just let this thread die down now :)

go medium, if the fps are good and you aren;t getting overheating or anything, put mid-high. If it can't handle medium, drop it down until it is playable
