hi, i just purchased a new notebook 4 school and wanted to get some feedback from anyone who knows more than i do about computers...(that shouldnt be hard......) Anyway....heres what i have:

Its a Toshiba Satellite M45 S256 15.4 widescreen w/ a centrino 1.6 and 512 RAM w/ a AX 900 media card (i think...)
i also know that a 1.6 M-processor runs about as fast as a 2.9 or 3.0 P4 but im not sure how this works....could anyone explain to me how these new processors work??

Thanx :p

laptop doesnt sound all that bad. a price and more indepth component listing would help.

1.6 is supposed to run faster than a 2.4 ghz p4. its not a new processor but pentiums line of mobile processors based off the pIII architecture.

if you want to know more about how cpus work read cpu 101. :)

yes the M is similar to the P3,4 etc.. there isn't really isn't much different i dont think if u really wanted to put it side by side and test it out.. but its just that the M are for conserving more battery life.. etc.. for mobile computing

mobile processor that can out-do nearly any processor at similar clock rates.
