What do you guys think of this video card?

Hey CF!

So I'm not a "noob", but I've never really spent much money on video cards because I've never been really into games before and I used to run lower-end systems...

But, I've been building a computer piece by piece, and I'd like to put a good GPU in it - at least a 1GB, quality card. I'm comfortable with paying up to $100 w/ shipping, but not much more than that.

My current system specs are:

Mobo: FOXCONN G41MXE-V
CPU: Intel Celeron Dual-Core 2.5GHz Processor E3300
RAM: 4GB (2x2GB) Mushkin DDR3 SDRAM (667MHz)
PSU: COOLMAX CT-450 450W ATX12V
Current GPU: Radeon X1300 V042 128MB PCI-e DVI TV-Out Video Card
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate Professional Media Center 6.01.7600 (64-bit)

The only gaming I do is Atlantica Online, the requirements for which are quite low:

I just want the "best bang for my buck" I guess. I know that everyone at CF has an opinion, so please, lay it on me!

Thanks guys!!!

69.99 after rebate will do what you need, however this hd5770

is 104.99 after rebate which will be all you need for a little while and a bit more powerful.
however i've not had any experience with powercooler so i'm not sure how reliable they are, from the companies i know are reliable it's about $10-30 more for the cheapest ones, either card will easily max out that game.
That game looks pretty good btw i may give it a try when i get back to england

Thanks innercx - I should have mentioned that I need a VGA port and a DVI port for dual monitors - my new mobo won't support IGP + PCIe video simultaneously... :(

That second card looks decent - I may go with that - I'm going to hold off for a day or two and see what other replies I get...

Regarding the graphics card, what do you intend to do with it mainly? If it's any kind of graphic design(CAD) i'd suggest a workstation card instead.

You're right innercx. I put the 5770 in my shopping cart, and I'm about ready to order - I'm going to hold off until 3PM today and make the purchase. ;)

Russ88765 - nothing really... :P

As I said in the OP, I play Atlantica Online, and that's about the most graphic-intensive thing I do on this computer right now. I also watch movies and use GIMP to make graphics and edit photos... but that's hardly "graphic design" in the sense that you mean.

But, w/ a 2.5GHz Dual-Core proc and 1GB RAM, it just doesn't make sense to have a 128MB card in this thing - it's clearly the bottleneck of my system. And, I want to as close a "flawless" desktop experience as I can get. I think a quality 1GB GPU should do the trick on top of what I've already got.

The *main* thing is that the mobo I upgraded from used AGP, and I had a 512 MB card in it, using dual monitors. When I bought this mobo, I just assumed I could use the IGP graphics + a video card to use my dual monitors - but, evidently, that is not the case on some mobos... :(

Anyway, thanks everyone for your input. Any other suggestions?
