What do you think about Gskill memory?

I am upgrading a guys computer. It is an older 939 board and it needs ddr 400 (pc3200) 184 pin. I was looking at some Gskill ram, but I have never used it before. I have always used Corsair or Crucial.

Any thoughts?

mate ive got a s939 board and ive got the cheapest gig of ram i could buy so i persume if you buy a top quality make ram its way beter than mine

I've never bought it sorry, although it the price was right I would consider it. It sounds like a chinsy name to me.

Do the Latency's look ok? I have seen some with a little lower cas and timings, but not by much. Also I don't want the ram to be to hot, so with a little higher timings the temp will be lower right?

Timings look good. They don't matter much in terms of performance, against popular thought, but there's no reason not to get good DRR1 timings considering how abundant, and cheap they are. Toward the heat question, the timings, low or high, will have little say on how hot the RAM gets. More important is the voltage of the RAM, and the airflow in the case.

I bought 2GB (2 x 1GB) for my laptop and it works perfectly right away. It may not be the same exact RAM since you are looking for desktop memory but that company certainly is worth considering when buying memory.

G Skill is an good company. The memory should work like an charm for you.
