Not bad, you could build your self a better and cheaper one though, as everyone here will say, but that GPU+CPU Combo will Kill any game on the market right now, probably even the next few markets too ;)

It depends what your looking for, most of what you have there is overkill, but who knows, if your looking for a killer machine i would upgrade the RAM Speeds, you cant get Ram at like 2133mhz nowadays and if you rlooking for the best then thats all id change, however i am gonna say, if your looking to save money a 580 and an i7-2600k would also be more than ample, also destroying every game you throw at it ;) 16GB of RAM is also to much than you will 'probably' ever use! (I dont know what you use your pc for)

Over things i might change:
- Get a cheap BD-ROM Drive if you watch if lots of blu-rays! (Generally you'll see faster burning times on CD's and DVD's with a BD Drive, my BD-ROM gets 48x writing a CD-R!

-£75 seems a bit to cheap for a 1000w power supply to me!

-Fan controllers arent really needed, you can get programmes to do that for free and the motherboard does a good automatic job anyways.

Just my thoughts, and i know you cant always change parts on these sites so the moral is: Make it yourself! :D
 
What site are you using? And like he said, building yourself is both cheaper and more fun, and a great learning experience, and VERY easy.

As far as that build, the cpu is completely wasteful, might get you 5fps more in like 3 games, but with a 680 you're already looking at 100+ fps so a 2500k is more than enough. Also, an advantage of getting the 2500k is you can get a z77 mobo which means you can upgrade to the i5-3570K in a few months which will be more powerful, or the i7-3770k if you want, and thanks to their 22nm die, they are expected to be better overclockers and known to use less power (although the power difference won't make much difference in life). Also that psu sucks, look at corsair, antec, xfx, nzxt, silverstone, seasonic, and pc power and cooling.

You have some good points, but i think im staying with the i7.


Ohh and i have built a computer before. Actually the one im currently using is built by myself. Its a basic gaming computer, but its two year out of date, so its time for a upgrade.


There are a couple problems with buying parts.

1. I live in The Netherlands
2. I cant seem to find a website here in holland.

Why? If this rig is for gaming alone and nothing else, save yourself a bundle and get the i5 2500K. You'd also need to get a different motherboard too because the i5 2500K and i7 3930K run on different sockets. You can still use your water cooling for the 2500K and overclock it to well over 4.0GHz. I've got mine at 4.3GHz on air, I bet with water cooling you could get close to 5.0GHz. The difference between the 2500K and any i7 for gaming is negligible, unless you plan to do other resource heavy things (video editing, running VMs etc), don't get the 3930K. The money you save by using a 2500K you can maybe put towards a dedicated sound card? ASUS Xonar D1 is a good card.

16GB of RAM is overkill for gaming, get 8GB. 8GB is fine for just about everything, I was doing some video encoding the other day and never went over 7.5GB of RAM, and I was encoding 2.5 hour long widescreen AVI videos. If you want to use VMs though, yes get 16GB (that's why I have 16GB of RAM).

don't get an ocz petrol, really slow compared to vertex/agility/solid 3's and vertex 4's.

Also ocz psus aren't the best, look at corsair, antec, xfx, nzxt, silverstone, seasonic, and pc power and cooling.

You also need an operating system, win7 oem 64-bit. otherwise looks good
 
Feddy, that's all good stuff, pleased you decided to go with the 2500K and the 8GB of RAM and save yourself a bundle. You'll love that CPU, I promise. :) With that cooler, you'll be able to overclock the 2500K waaayy beyond 4.0GHz as well, you'll be able to hit the 4.6-4.8GHz range I reckon.

The OCZ Petrol SSD is probably all right but I'd probably go for either the OCZ Vertex 3, Corsair Force 3 or Crucial M4 if you can afford any one of those drives. The Intel SSDs are meant to be great too but they're probably more expensive. I have the M4 myself, I love it, it's a great drive. If you can't afford a Vertex 3, Force 3, M4 or one of the Intel drives, then yeah a Petrol should be OK.

OCZ power supplies are fine, I've got one and it's absolutely fine, but yeah I'd probably shell out the extra for a Corsair, Seasionic or XFX PSU if you can. Any of those brands in the 700-800W range would be fine for your system.

So you are now going for an OCZ Vertex 4, correct? Or 4x OCZ Vertex drives? If you're going for 4 SSDs I'd say you're wasting your money right there, one will do.
