What do you think of this build? (Pre-built warning!)

Hey guys,

I really don't have the time or interest into building my own powerhouse (which I did in the past and hated with all of my heart) so I am looking for a pre-built rig

I need something that can run Skyrim and BF3 maximized and I'd like to get your thoughts on this rig here: https://www.gamingpc.ca/purchase.php?pcID=4. ( 2'029$ )

These guys are close to my hometown (1 hour ) which is a GREAT value to me in case something goes wrong. They also answered my questions fast in a matter of minutes and I also got to chat with one of them so I see they have a good support. In other words I need to know if its WAY over the value like lets say Alienware or is it a fair price considering Im not building it and they do 48 hours test on each rig before shipping and also clean up a lot of trash from Windows to optimize general speed before shipping(probably trivial to any of you here but still...:P )

Thanks for helping!

PS: If you have any better suggestion please do so however take into account im from Canada so shipping from the USA can hurt alot. I want to stay under 2000$.

Hey there! Welcome to our forums. Looks pretty good spec-wise to me, great CPU and nice graphics card. If you can though you may want to see if you can configure a build with the Radeon 7950? it's a bit more expensive than the GTX 580 but it outperforms it and has the new 28nm process. It's just an idea though, if not, the 580 will be absolutely fine. The system does seem to be very expensive for an i5 2500K P67-based build though, $2000? I'd probably go for this over an Alienware though.

Thanks !

Still not sure what Im gonna do... hmmm. I might keep searching for better options.. I also feel this is a bit expensive for what it is. however it does seem like a solid piece of hardware and well built.

By the way I need something that can be as quiet as possible, I HATE hearing the fans... shoud I go water cooled of air cooled? Moneywise which is the best option?

To answer your question; YES, that rig will max out the games you listed. However, I do suggest that you look around a bit more, there kinda high on there prices. Thats about a $1500 dollar PC, so there charging you about $500 to build it.

cheaper yes, better no. That computer is a dead socket. The first generation core i7 is not that great when you can get a 2500/2600 for cheaper and have higher IPC than them.

if any of you have a complete list of a good build under 2000$ where I can get all the parts at the same place (ncix would be great), I might end up using it and just build one by myself .. I never thought it would be so hard to find a prebuilt gaming rig for a resonable price !
