what do you think of this laptop?

If your gonna use it just for travel and small tasks like wordprocessing or movies then id say thats an ok laptop.
 
what is your purpose of the laptop?

school?
game?
graphic?
entertainment.

etc..

I think you can probably get something for about the same for cheaper.. since Sony can be a bit overpriced sometimes..

my girlfriend is shopping for one. she'll only use it for school, movies, aim, etc. the only reason i made this post is because i don't know what names are best with laptops. her budget is about $1000...
 
Yuep! Thats definitly a laptop :P


I dont really like that laptop. It seems too expensive for the components, like only an80GB hdd, and 512MB ram, and 128MB(shared) video ram.
 
models that you guys can look for:
ASUS, ACER, TOSHIBA, and SONY..
possibly LENOVO, and widebrand like DELL, HP, COMPAQ, GATEWAY

check www.tigerdirect.com... they usually have good sales on laptops.. like.. 399-499.. etc.. then there's also www.newegg.com.. then there's also sites like ebay and froogle.

my advise would be... find one that you like.. for instance that one.. then search its model on sites like froogle, newegg, tigerdirect, www.outpost.com, and others.

VAIO models are nice, I used to have one; however, for their price there are way better deals out there. I'm currently really liking HP for price to value ratio.
