I am getting ready to build my first PC and although I am not a gamer, I like the great looking cases and my system will be a Pentium 4 D.

This PSU has one of the highest ratings that I saw on Newegg.
PSU

A couple questions I do have is this set up for Serial ATA, and I hear alot of people mention that their board is a 24 pin, and I see most PSU are 20 pin.

I hope all teh questions are not getting old, just want to make sure I order the righ componets. :o

Lol

Well other than what Dragon pointed out, you are looking at a sweet PSU. The 12V rail ratings are very good and should be able to power almost anything you put into your case.

Thanks, you guys are great and very quick to help.
If you ever need help on getting a great rate on a auto loan, I will return the favor.

Will I have any trouble because the mobo power cable is 20 pins instead of 24? Do I need an adapter for that?

Yes

I would suggest you to get one. They are very cheap but you could run into power problems without it.

to be honest they do look good, in fact they look too good for the price. And i dont believe them
The aspire web site put the +12V@35A down to maximum load, which suggests to me peak load, the quote the normal load at 26A, still ok, but not for that price
Looks like new eggs got it wrong (again)
Also that psu only had a hold up time of 10ms, not too good.

The best psu for you money are listed in psu101 -> under recommendations

they nearly always have them already
By the pictures i can see that there are NO SATA power connectors
just for clarity you're right it didn't have any.

and you should get a powersupplu with dual 12v rails

Unless you want all of the power to be available to your CPU and video card - then a single rail is MUCH better.
