What do you think of torrent downloads?

I know this is a touchy subject here but I thought it was OK to discuss what ppl think. What do you all think - right or wrong?

Whoops, wrong rule there in the quote. Not trying to burst your bubble here, but these kinda threads usually end up with a lock after a few posts...

Torrents can be good and bad, but usually torrents are bad because they are used to pirate software.

The torrent system is excellent. It reduces server load and makes usually helps speed up downloads. Downloading Linux through torrents is much faster than using a normal download linking.
