I would like to purchase a computer for under $1200 with monitor if possible. Don't really have much idea what I should get. I will use for gaming video and photo editing and intense multitasking. AMD fan....

AMD Phenom is the latest CPU from AMD, it is a quad core CPU, but I've read some artical saying there are bug with the CPU. Don't know if you want to take the risk. Or just simply get 6400+ x2

AMD fan or not, Intel has the best quad core CPU's right now. If you want to do intense multitasking and video editing, either wait until AMD hammers out their bug or wait till the Q9450 comes out which will completely demolish the Phenoms.

The cache has some issues I think... it'll bugger up the CPU if you overclock past 2.4-2.6GHz...
