That's not for gaming. It is a high end graphics and rendering card.

Well, it's a workstation video card. Their drivers are much more stable and they are better for encoding videos and pictures. I suppose if you're running a big business encoding HD video and pictures, $3k is a small price to pay.

It will play games but not graphically intense games. It would run games like Half Life and Warcraft 3. Thus making it not an outrageous build.

My Crossfired 1GB 4870's would kick that thing in the hind end in games. It only has 240 stream processors, compared to my 1600.... Its not designed for games, as others have said its for workstation rendering type stuff.

True, if you get a 3D rendering workstation card it might get by on a few very low end games, but if you're going to play any games you might as well get a gaming video card.

i think i used it in an outrageous computer contest, put two of these in sli, along with a quad socket board(with 4 shanghai quads and 128gb of ram) it would probably be the fastest rendering machine you have ever used
