Does anyone know a website that explains how it works?
They run the cable to your house but then were does that cable go?
How does it get split to be able to access everyones server.
Sorry if this doesnt make sense. Im so confused.

Basically you can't, you have to be an ISP to be able to register domain names yourself. So whatever happens, you'll have to pay for a URL. Now as far as the hosting of your files, you either have your own server (you'll only have to direct the url to your server) or you rent one.
