Well, my friend to went to best buy he bought some DDR2 ram, takes it home realizes that its the wrong ram after trying to put it in, he puts his other ram back in (the working one) He restarts his comp, and it looks like it is going work fine. Then it stops working before it gets to the windows loading, he then tries to re image it, and it too looks like it will works fine, then it goes to black screen. What does he do? He checked his motherboard for loose cords ect, and thinks everything is ok.

What do youmean "re image it"? like chekc the monitor something? if he shorted out the RAM or seomthing that could be the problem, get memtest86 and test the RAM, also try the suggestion above

Take Ram out, Blow off, And gently Re-Insert

If you have 2 sticks, Swap the slots they are in.

(yes i saw the i BELIEVE he only has a single stick thing)

This did not work, setup said that his ram was working but it still will not boot up.

setup doesnt tell you if the RAM is working or not. If it boots, but crashes, then yuo know the RAM is bad. Get memtest86 from microsoft... check the RAM.

Im not 100% Familiar with Memtest86, Thats a Bios Program yes? i know what it does, im just trieing to figure out the platform it runs on.

I second Oscaryu1, Bios Will NOT tell you if your ram is faulty, it may say its working fine and reconising, but as soon as its needed for access, it will crash the computer.

No memtest86 is a memory testing program from Microsoft (i think its been a long time) It tests every part of your RAM with a PASS or FAIL. if it gives you too many FAILS then you know its faulty

That i know.

What i asked was What Platform does it run on.

Dos or what?

Because as he said, He Cannot get onto windows.

You really need to read the posts better mate.
