im in task manager on my laptop and there is a proccess called system idle process using 97 cpu is it important and can i delet it?

The System Idle Process actually is telling you how much of your processor your not using. But to keep the computer from getting hotter and having the CPU running on full, the idle process "fools" the CPU into thinking that it's a legitimate program thats using the resources.

So basically, it's nothing to worry about, as it doesnt really use up any CPU power.

This is taken from Wikipedia "In Windows NT-based operating systems, the System Idle Process is the system idle task: it measures how much idle capacity the CPU has at any given time. The process runs in the background and constantly monitors processing bandwidth, occupied memory and the Windows virtual paging file. System users can find it in the Windows Task Manager, under "SYSTEM"; however, it cannot be terminated."
