What does this mean.

I was looking in C:/ WINDOWS and I saw a lot of files that looked like this one-$NtUnistallKB970430$.

What does this mean and is it safe to delete them. There are 118 of such files listed.

It is an uninstall file for a windows update. Do not delete them.

I strongly advise not deleting or touching any files in your Windows folder. They're all there for a reason and shouldn't be messed with.

Def go with what others said. I deleted them out of curiosity (on a scrap computer) and it would not boot right afterwords. For me it was all ok-i reinstalled XP and did not lose anything other then time, but if its your primary-DONT DELETE THEM.
