What happened? It looks normal.
and does this mean the cd is ruined ?
We have to know what we are looking at as stated above? If it stopped at 73%, we have no idea since it's a screenshot.
however it told me that it was completed successfully
If it was successfully completed, have you tried it? Did it work correctly like it is supposed to?

You shouldn't do much cpu and hdd intense work when burning a CD/DVD, you see that your read buffer and record buffer lowered themselves becouse something is stopping them from going faster, it's not that your CD/DVD will be ruined, recording will just finish slower.

do you need to check your cd if its clean? mine everytime i burn i make sure the cd is clean, i have no running programs on the taskbar as well. to make things run smooth.

the buffer level went down to 25 however magicman man told me before that this is not right because there is protection against that

it went back to normal again and continued burning

I think you may have misinterpreted magicman's post. Buffer underrun protection allows the burner to pause the burn when the buffer becomes empty, it doesn't stop the buffer emptying.

Without buffer underrun protection, the burn will fail if the buffer empties.

I'd say your system's fine :)
