What good is a touch screen on the all in one hps?

I'm going to have to sell these hp touchsmarts at my store. I think they're cool but not very practical. What good is the touchscreen? It's faster to just use the mouse. A nice kitchen pc isn't good enough for a 1500 computer. It's cool that it's all in one but the dell and macs look better. How am I going to sell this? And I must sell this or else I'm going to take a lot of heat. What are the pros of the touchscreen?

I will also point out my store is in a bad neighborhood and most of my computer customers are either on tight budgets or go for the credit. What should I point out in the touchscreen that will help my customers or is it just pointless and people are only going to buy it because they think it's cool?

Touch screen is great for certain things (restaurant/store POS use, etc.) but outside of that, it's a novelty in the mainstream market. What store do you work for and why will you 'take heat' for not selling them?

Top tech specialist in district (tech department manager) and i can't really afford to let these go below margin. I think I can move them if the go on ad but it'll be tough, I just don't see the point of the touchscreen.

Well, from a purely marketing/selling standpoint, place a minimum order - try to keep 4 on hand, one of those as the display model. Every once in a while, you're going to get the 'OMG, I have to have it only because it's new and cool' person, buy they'll still be on the fence. Tell them you're not ever certain if you still have them in stock since almost everyone who sees it and tries it out ends up buying one, then politely excuse yourself to 'check' the back. Come out a minute or two later and say 'We have three left, and I noticed one has already been set-aside for someone, and it looks like there's a pending hold on another, so if you want, I'd grab it now just to be safe.'

I just don't see the point of the touchscreen

Again, they def. have their uses. However, as much as I think HP is moving in the right direction, it seems they sort of overshot the limited niche-market that touch screen's currently have. I'm not sure if the kind of folks who will buy one just to say they have one will justify the production costs at this time.
