What happened to 10 000 RPM Hard Disk?

I thought that manufacturers have been focusing on 10 000 rpm for some years. How come new HDs are still at 7500?
 
becuase 10k rpm harddrives are expensive and have a higher failrate. most ppl dont even notice a difference, so maufacturers put out the proven slower harddrives that last longer and give about the same performance for a cheaper price. and they are 7200rpm not 7500rpm
 
10k RPM drives are also smaller. They can't make ultra high capacity 10k drives without using many platters.
