what happened to my PC?? (SONAR software)

Hi,
I have a PC with:
2 HDs (120Gb and 80Gb) both with enough free space.
2Gb RAM memo
3.0 GHz processor

I used to work with the music program SONAR, and my projects used to consume about 10% CPU. (sonar has its own cpu meter).
I've spent some time wothout working, and committed the mortal sin: connected this PC to the internet.
Now, a few months later, when I open the projcts I used to work in sonar, the CPU use goes to more than 90%, and the program sometimes even stops woking, with the message: DROPOUT (not enough memory).

So, what happened?? What can I do to slove it?
I've already uninstalled everything I could, and I also have desfragmented the 2 HDs. Also, I used anti-virus and spyware.

thanks!

You mentioned you unistalled everything. Did that include Sonar? I would try reinstalling it in case any of its files have be corrupted over the months. Is it a very old 16 bit application?

Excellent typo btw "What can I do to slove it". I don't think we're anywhere near to sloving the pc yet!
