What happens if ur bios is damaged

Ok so my motherboard is pretty much causing my crashes, hangs, and etc. Lets see like a month ago i was trying to fix another motherboard by flashing its bios from another motherboard(yes its possible). I use my motherboard... I had to take out my Bios Cartridge and when i put it back and turned it on it was Frying. It was so hot. I put in in wrong so i pulled out the plug and wait for the thing to cool i out it back on and it actually worked. THere some problems with the bios menu but it worked fine until now.


ANy ideas what happened. like why it kicked the bucket now of all times.
 
i think when you putted it back in, i connection of the bios was bend to the wrong connection of the mobo.
if it still worked, the bios didnt take any damage tough.
 
I would buy another chip from the manufacturer, they're only like $10-$20, and its much better than a corupted BIOS
 
dont forget to make sure its 5the right socket and that it is also agp port for graphic card im assuming you 6800 is agp not pci express
