i have 6gbs of ram and im running window 7 Professional 32-bit. if i remember right it says im only using 3.5gbs of my ram does my computer do anything else with the other 2.5? im just curious.

haha the last answer was the best. i understand that is the memory limit i was just wonder what happens to the rest of the memory. does it just sit there and do nothing. im planning on getting 64bit i just dont see the need for it at the time.

I do think its worth it now instead of later. then depends on how you use it. On another note i brought up the question else where how much memory can be recognized with 32 bit.
Others have replied and said something similar to what i mentioned and here. Here's another comment from microsoft that was interesting and a breakdown. if you figure it out then let me know. im getting the impression with 32 bit and say 4gig you can increase the virtual memory and use it. Just won't see it. Im i interpreting this right?

another comment was windows 7 32 bit will recognize 4 gig limit.

If you are a power user......run multiple programs at once, then there is benefit to you running 64bit. Ensure to check if your processor is 64 bit compatible.

i just play star craft 2 and some other random games. it runs great right now so thats why im in no rush to get 64-bit.

Windows addresses RAM up to a certain limit (based on several factors). You can't make it address more by creating a larger page file.

Your system is fine with 3.5 gigabytes of RAM. There are so many people who are in a rush to get 4 to 8 gigabytes of RAM who do not even need it. 3584 megabytes of RAM is a lot of memory and most systems will run fine with 3.5 gigabytes or less.
