What happens when the 8 series comes out from GeForce?

OK, the 7 series is amazing enough, but what happens when the 8 series comes out? I mean 7950 is close it becoming the last of the 7 series right? And do you think Geforce will wait to make them until Directs 10 come out? And are all some series GeForce the same? (ex: BFG GeForce 7600GT, XFX GeForce 7600GT etc)
 
I'm sure the 8xxx series is already in the works and will be released within a year.

The different makers of video cards generally offer similar cards (i.e Geforce 7600 GT's are similar from different manufacturers); similar being the key. Different companies will offer "tweaks" to their cards. I have the XFX 7600 GT and that one is cloacked slightly higher than most of the others standard (overclockers don't really care about that). Also, different software may be bundled with the cards.

Of course there may be a difference in quality of the cards from different manufacturer,s and every now and then a certain card from a good manufatuerer might experience problems.

Overall, the differences are not stellar...
 
The 7950 better be close to the last card of the 7 series, they're gonna run outta names, what's the next one going to becalled, 7990? :P

Technically, they could go on infinately.

well the G80 is suspost to come out kinda soon right?

wouldnt that be the start of the 8xxxx sence its the G80?

Awww, no! I saw that card and i want it soo bad! I am stuck with a crappy 7999.99999999999999999999999999999999. That thing is soo outdated!

Gee, thanks Motoxrdude, now I have to take medication for the throat.:rolleyes: And some peptobismal for the stomach pain (something tells me that might make it worse....):eek:
