What if I bought this vid card..would it work well?

Open GL 2.0
System Requirements:

* Intel Pentium 4/Celeron, AMD Athlon/Athlon XP or compatible
* 256MB of Available System Memory
* An Available PCI Express Slot
* Installation software requires CD-ROM drive

Operating System Support:

* Windows 2000, XP
(this is obviously a part of the description)

If it says XP does it mean that it would run under media center too?
I only have 512mb of RAM and would the 256 is needs to run slow down my computer?
And along with that I wanna know while supporting dual monitors would it slow down my PC?
 
It depends on the make and model card. You would see a performance gain by increasing the memory installed. Media Center should run on most newer cards as long as there are drivers for it. The 256mb is the minimum amount of memory needed. You will have to post a little more information on the system to see whether it is capable of running a dual monitor setup. That will require a good 450w power supply and a good video card to support it.
 
Okay well my card right now is 256mb woooo so thats good but the one I am trying to get is GeForce 6600 256MB PCI Express Video Card 16x.
 
Well the thing that will help here is knowing the budget for hardwares. An increase in memory, having enough power as well as a good card to support the dual monitor setup, and being able to run MCE 2005 are the main items to consider. The cards available now are all DX 9 capable so MCE wouldn't be a problem. That's closer to being a newer 32bit version of XP anyways.
 
Keep us posted on how it works for you anyways. There's a few softwares like Unimon available for expanding or cloning desktops. If you can't use the NVidia tools you could look at those once your system is ready.
