hi, as far as i know...someone has to do the "activiation" when he buys a new laptop. my question is once the new laptop is activiated...can it be activiate again (for example: after using the factory recovery disc)......
personally i think it is NO....but not 100% sure...so need to ask you guys
i just heard a weird story from my friend today...he bought a Toshiba A200 three weeks ago....when the time he bought it, the sales said he need ONE HOUR to activiate the window vista, so he told my friend to walk around then collect the laptop after an hour.
(question: does it need one hour to activate window???? i remember when i bought my nec laptop two years ago, it only took one minute to activiate, but its window xp though.)
then after two weeks he bought the laptop...he told me that the ms office doesnt work anymore, it doesnt let user do anything (e.g. editing) apart from opening files. however, the ms office is 60 days trial version...!!!!
today, my friend told me the laptop has got some problems, e.g. has bip bip sound when power on the laptop which doesnt have before, when press any key on the keyboard will come up "number 9". Then i told him to use the recovery disc and see if it is ok.
now, everything seems ok. however, the ms office is not trial version anymore, instead it let him use 25 times (i.e. open one file count as one time)
conclusion:
according to the above information, i really think the laptop has been used before my friend bought it....but i am not sure and dont know how to prove my assumption!!! any ideas or suggestions??? many thanks
