What is going on?

Hi all,
We recently changed ISP's from TDS Telecom to Time Warner Cable. Since the switch, I have had to change wireless routers and have had endless problems ever since I plugged the *%$* thing in!! I used to have 15mbps through TDS, now I have 10mbps through Time Warner Cable. I was using a Linksys WRT54G2 router, but it basically quit giving the IP address to wired and wireless devices for some reason. So I started using the Linksys E3200 we've had for a while but never used. First I had to update the firmware, and since then, the wireless signal has been spotty, I occasionally have trouble connecting to my IP through it, and I don't get near the Netflix quality as before using it. It buffers every 10 minutes at least. My laptop, smartphone and iPod all use it pretty much perfectly, but my Xbox is where it usually causes the aforementioned problems.

From my understanding, 10mbps through Cable connection should be more than enough for Netflix, but if so, then what's causing my problem? The router was $90 and new, so I'm lost as to why it's having these problems. My Xbox has trouble detecting it occasionally and like I said, Netflix is spotty on it. I want to fix this, so I don't have to struggle with my *%$* internet every night before bed so I can watch something on Netflix. Please help. I suck a networking, so you know in advance, but I follow instructions well. I just want this stupid wireless problem fixed. And before anyone suggests I wire my xbox directly, don't, as I haven't the time or equipment to string a 50ft ethernet cable across my apartment.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Are you running wired or wireless connection? If wired, hook directly up to the modem and see if your connection is good and stays connected. If so, then its a bad router. If not, then you have a bad modem or a line issue. You basically have to diagnose your issue. And if it involves trying a different router, then thats what you have to do. Borrow one if you have to.
