I made a post about a computer i plan to buy, and i got alot of "get better ram, get better ram!" Even when i changed my ram. I got some examples but i cant tell what makes ram better. So far it seems like a preference of clock speed or latencies.

But what makes ram good? i Read the ram 101, and for gaming i got "cas latency 2.0 and pc3200 are the standard. But do i want ddr? ddr2? i guess not ddr3 since they have alot of latency.

I want to get some good memory but i have no idea what is good!

So....whats good?

ok since nobody is being specific, you go to newegg and you set the price to a good range for you. then you set the speed you want. then you set the amount of ram you want. the only thing left to decide is cas latency 3 or four. if you choose 3, then you will want what i have in my signature. its about $70 for 2GB or ddr2 800 CL3 ram.

I'd recommend using the memory configurators to find RAM compatible with your particular motherboard, rather than just search for RAM this way.
