what is steam?

Steam is an online-based content delivery system. You can purchase games online, download them, and play them. You dont have to worry about losing CD's or forgetting CD Keys.

But as the games are nothing but downloaded data, they have no resell value whatsoever. I make a habit of selling all my unused games to fund new ones so Steam is fatally flawed in my mind.

There is no debating the fact that it's the future though. I guess I'll just have to suck it up; when I'm gaming at 110 (Free Radical research has prolonged my life :D) I'll just have to quit whining and get Downloadin.

True, but today a lot of games require CD Keys and activations, so it will be much harder or impossible to sell them and the other user being able to use it. The only thing I worry about it Steam going out of business, but that probably wont happen for a while.

lol nice, thanks for the feedback, is it just steam.com?

True. Bioshock really was the start of something bigger though.. Capped number of installs? Several activation methods needed? Stopping the pirates sure does take away much freedom from the average consumer..

The first game I noticed that had that was Halo 2 for PC, but then again it is a Microsoft product..
