I need to know what is the best antivirus no matter how much it costs. It would also be very helpful if you compare the antivirus with other antivirus.

No antivirus program is full proof. You will still get infected as new malware comes out daily. Some of your best antivirus programs are free such as Avast and Microsoft Security Essentials.

as John said, none is full proof.

If you are really concerned with viruses, then I would suggest Dual booting it with Ubuntu (just use a WUBI install) and you will be golden. Ubuntu is nearly virus and maleware proof due to the Linux roots of it.

The one I use is McAfee VirusScan Enterprise which is specifically designed only for Windows XP OS and I must say that I never got a single virus or any type of malware. The bad news is that I payed approximately 5000 dollars for it,but it was definetely worth every penny.Of course you need to configure all the settings properly otherwise it won't protect well.
I do however also use Malwarebytes anti-malware too just in case.

By the way the BEST virus protection is when you do not use computers :D
I am just kidding lol :D

Cheers!

For a not-so-powerful Netbook I'd suggest Microsoft Security Essentials.

Must be a typo, wouldn't make sense to spend $5000 for an AV, especially for a $300 netbook.

I use the free version of avast!, and it has always protected me, like a good parent. Never disappointed me, although, with every antivirus i've worked with, doesn't seem to do much against malware. Malwarebytes antimalware seems like a awesome second tool for protection. Avast + malwarebytes made me never have problems with viruses in 6 years. Cheers :-bd
