What is the best backup method?

Back on this topic again, as far as an external drive, which interface would you recommend? Would you go esata, or would a network connected drive be better that could be stored in another room? Or is USB still fine?
Of those it makes no functional difference. What you ask is about convenience nothing more.;) Stored in another room? What that room does not catch fire or flood, or blow up? What do you like? Go for it.

So I am thinking the storage in three separate locations as some of you mentioned is a good idea. So if one drive is internal and one is external, and then maybe some saved on DVDs as well, would it be a good idea just to make the internal drive RAID? I know RAID is not a backup method, as it would duplicate any corrupt files and such, but even if it did that, I would still have the other drive. Then if one drive went out, I would at least have the other RAID drive duplicated. Is that a good idea, or is it best just to backup the important files to both drives and forget about RAID?

get an internal drive. Esata if your board supports. I also have an usb external. with just two internals that will work. ya won't loose both at the time. The external is just portable, thats it. i can load all backups and take it with me. has favorite utilities, 1000's of family pictures, programs and portable.

A Redundant Array of Independent Disks 1 setup slows hard drive write times if I am not mistaken thus affecting performance. I would just buy an external hard drive and make backups once every 7 to 10 days.
