What is the best brand for a video card?

XFX/EVGA/Gigabyte/Asus/Sapphire/MSI. Just depends on the card and what kind of a deal you can get at the time.

IMO i think thats like asking which car is better, a chevy or a ford. they both drive around and are both available with different options and power plants

i think this is partly an matter-of-taste question.. (when looking at StrangleHold's comment).. and maybe a small price question...

If you are referring to Nvidia vs Ati, here is what I have to say.
Ati cards are better in the regards of raw power, but their driver support is sub-par.
Nvidia cards usually tend to have less raw power, but their fantastic drivers more than make up for the lack of. Another bonus is that Nvidia has PhysX support. There is much speculation on this issue. I cant seem to find a good article on it right now, but I have read many in the past, can anyone provide one?

the thing about physX is that next to nothing uses the nvidia cards for it, ever game loads it onto the cpu so they don't look bias towards nvidia customers and everyone gets an equally satisfying experience, meaning they get more money. as for which brand is more powerful it goes to the price point. amd just about owns it up to the 560's, which i think they are about equal with, then the 6950 is slightly better, but not enough to say it is a better buy, the the 570 is a little bit better but the 6970's extra vram gives it an edge, then the 580 has no competition and i have no clue on 590 v 6990
