What is the best case for OverClocking?

well...... i dont think a case should have that much effect on overclocking. a case should be the last of ur concerns in terms of overclocking.

First of all, a case does have to do with overclocking, more power = more heat, duh! I really think that water cooling is overated, air is the best insulator, so therefore it conducts heat and is able to move heat passively. A good Zalman 95 or 97 will run with a water cooling system, the heatpipes are the key, and the key to efficiency is air flow in the case.

watercooling isnt overrated at all. it has much better thermal resistance than air cooling, try .05C/W versus the .2C/W of the Tuniq Tower 120. That means water cooling is .05 degrees celsius per watt heating up 4 times less than the TT120 at .2 degrees celsius per watt. custom watercooling coming in at around 250 and a nice full tower and you can get world record OCs if your custom watercooling is done right.

Just get a case with good airflow. Such as the case in my sig. :-P

Make sure it has room for a monstrous HSF as well.

yea... you say it.. heating up. once the water in a water cooling system is heated up however, id doesnt make a difference at all, except for the placement and the size of the radiator.
and thats the only point for water cooling, to place a heatsink (radiator) wich is way to big to fit on the CPU itself directly.
But if you ask me, its hardly worth it, if you have a good CPU heatsink, and pick a case with the air pulled pulled directly to the CPU fan, and after that beein pulled out again (for example ofc) you'll get way better results than any cheap water cooling kit.

watercooling's worth it if you cool your cpu, gpu, ram, and front side bus all with a big radiator

i would say the biggest benefit of water cooling is/can be sound

it's possible to cool a hot, overclocked system much more quietly with water than ever possible with air, especially with those gigantic passive cooling rigs

i wouldn't get watercooling just for a cpu, tho. $60 will get you just as cool with air, if all you need to cool is your cpu, and noise isn't a huge concern.

For a home-theater or small (read: tiny) bedroom, with overclocked EVERYTHING, watercooling would become a consideration.

But water or not, the thermaltake kits are junk. Skip the tai-chi watercooled case. It's a nice case, but that tiny 3/8" rig isn't going to get you any cooler than with air.

You could get an antec p180b for $89 at compusa, and add your own danger den 1/2" kit for $170, or even get the full cpu/gpu nvidia approved kit for an extra $50.
