What is the best CPU for $160?

I was just looking at the general processing power marks on CPUBenchmark.net.

They rated Intel's Core i5 2300 Quad-Core running at 2.8 gigahertz at 5552. It is priced at $185.

The AMD Phenom II 965 running at 3.4 gigahertz was rated at 4268. It is priced at $165.

With these numbers the Core i5 2300 is roughly about 30 percent more powerful than the Phenom II 965 processor when running at normal speeds.

Guys, he's in the UK. Things are priced a bit differently over there, and not in a good way.
The cheapest sandy bridge I can find in the UK is £139, for the i5 2300 at scan.co.uk:

The only Phenom II quad I found for £100 was the 925, at ebuyer:

Best 1156 I could find under £100 was the i3 550, at Scan:

The i5 2300 is the equivalent of just over $220 USD, and the cheapest I could find the 955 was £113/$180USD before shipping, here:
