My old PC the MSI-7061 has a Socket A(Socket 462) connection and would like to know what is the best CPU for the socket as an upgrade from a AMD Sempron 2500 @ 1.75ghz OC to 1.84GHz

That's back a while, athlon xp? Were they not the top of the line socket As right? I can't really remember, I built my xp 5 years ago, but I think they went up to a xp3200, which was 2.8ghz if I remember correctly. I'm not sure if all mo-boards support all socket A processors though... Semprons were budget processors, but there probably aint a big jump between that and an xp. **** I dunno!
Fastest is an athlonxp 3200 2.8ghz though, I just don't know if your specific motherboard will work with it, it should. They'll be nothing to buy on ebay now, try it and see

Okay thank you very much... and the double post was an accident, the site kept freezing up, and then it stayed at the post screen.. so i assumed it didn't post and come to my suprise it actually posted the message..... (TWICE)...
Think that boards FSB only goes to 333mhz so a XP 3000 would be the fastest it supports if they have a bios update for it.
