What is the best GeForce GPU and ATI GPU and which one is better?

OK, I'm just trying to find out over all whether an ATI and GeForce same in class GPU is better than the other. For this, I'd like to know what is the best med-class GPU from both and high-class from both. Money is not an issue and will be discussed to find the best prices. Plus, NO opinions about whether you like Geforce or ATI either. If you must, then if you like ATI tell me what is the best ATI for mid and high class, and if you like Geforce do the same for GeForce. No SLI. Only single graphics card. if it is a 2 GPU in one then that is OK.

I would go with the x1900XTX, since for a single card, it's a great performer, and even outperforms the 7950GX2 in some tests (for almost half the price). ATI cards also allow you to use HDR and FSAA in all games, unlike nVidia.

I heard it was around $450... And besides, theres not a huge difference between the two, besides some faster RAM and a new cooler.
 
OK, so there is a little debate, but judging by the number and the price, I think we can agree that the X1950XTX is the best of the ATI in high-class. But what about mid-class? These ones must be powerful, but yet more affordable. And suggestions?
 
I have two steps below the x1950XTX and it runs awesome. For the price of probably $220, but for a little more, you can get the x1900xt.
 
well mid class,the X800's and X850's by ATI are pretty amazing despite the lack of pixel shadow 3.0,nvidias 7600GT and 6800GT cards are good aswell for midrange but they carry pixel shader 3.0,ATI's X800's and X850's have faster gpus and memory usually but then again,pixel shader 3.0 and the openGL support of nvidia is good too,all depends really.
