What is the best RAM to get?

I am buying a new pc primarily for gaming and am just wondering what the best option would be.

4096MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [4x1024]
3072MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x1024+2x512]

Do I go for more MBs or is a higher speed more important?
If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it!

Why do you have to choose? It only costs about $5-10 more to get the DDR2 800 RAM.

And if you are using a 32 bit OS, then you can only use ~3GB, so getting 4GB would be pointless.

I am in compliance with the rest of the posts, I personally believe that 2 gb of pc6400 (800 mhz) ram would be more than sufficient. If you are doing some video editing or what not 3 gb is enough, Keep in mind that 800 mhz ram completes much more processing cycles than 533 mhz ram per second on average, so the higher speed will most probably make for the decrease in physical memory.

1Gb (2 X 512) of DDR2 667 is the best to use but otherwise you have to purchase as per your needs..their are so many companies which are producing so many variety of rams for the seek to help then with new extra ordinary technology so it is not the issue that which is to get but get as per your needs..
