Not sure about a "remote," but I know for AMD chipsets, ASUS has the ROG motherboards that have the CPU Level Up feature, which will automatically clock up the CPU speed to any of three preset settings.
For example, I'm running a AMD Phenom II X4 925 (stock 2.8 GHz) and the CPU Level Up has options of running that CPU at the 940 (3.0 GHz), 955 (3.2 GHz), and the 965 (3.4 GHz) speeds.
I know you have an Intel CPU so this info may not be all that helpful, but I would imagine that ASUS has something like that for Intel motherboards...
