Hey just bought an AMD 64 3200+ with "clawhammer." What exactly is it and is it good? Thanks!

Dave

Im sure you would be able to find that out on Toms Hardware Guide, the only comparisons I know of is between the 3400's, what I know is that the Newcastle is supposedly better than a Clawhammer but Im not sure if there is a Newcastle in the 3200 series.

Ok I'll check that out right now. Thanks for the help guys!

Yea, the Newcastle is only for the older 754 socket. The Venice core is the most popular among the boards here.

yes more people are looking into dual core technology. Yet they do cost more but for what you get its worth it. If your cpu is 939 socket, u should have no problem upgrade to one in the future.

Yep I'll be upgrading my chip probably over the X-Mas holidays with a dual core 64 bit processor since my board supports it.
