What is the difference between 32bit and 64 bit

Is there much of a performance gain?

Currently, no.

Are there many programs available to work with 64bit?

Yes, though some drivers are quirky and don't like to play nice.

As-is, the only major difference is the native ability to support more than 4 GB of RAM. Other than that...eh. 64-bit *is* the future, but for now, 32-bit is still mainstream and will be for the immediate-to-mid-range time to come.

I've been on 64-bit now for months, and Ive not had 1 Driver problem at all. Everything, and I mean everything I own, works flawlessly.
