What is the Difference in Stream Processors

I have been looking at Video cards till my eyes bleed trying to figure out what one is better. I have noticed that the Stream Processors on the ATI and NVIDI are different. Can some please tell me if it matters that much or not I will post one of each that I am talking about.

This one was core and not units 216 processing cores

I have been going nuts on what one to get ATI or NVIDI I really like the 260 and for 219$ is not a bad price for me. I have read alot of forums and most have said that ATI updates and drivers or what ever sucks but if and one could help me out on the question about and help this noob understand video cards a little better it would be much appreciated.
 
Short version. Nvidias in general run at a faster clock speed. Nvidias blocks can all run the same code, where AMD/ATI blocks of 5/6 split up the code.
 
ATI overclocks much farther than Nvidia but Nvidia cards are optimized for games more. Nvidia cards are faster and you will see more fps with them. When ATI gets better drivers and games are better optimized for ATI those extra stream processors will come in handy.
 
Well I hate to say I really did a noob thing and had a drink sitting next to my computer and the drink feel right on top of the top fan of the case and went down the inside of the whole thing. I send the case, ps, and ram back to newegg, the motherboard not sure if it is going to ge treplaced and intel to me to go screw myself basiclly. the video card not sure either. I sent the hard drive, processor and video card to a computer shop to see if they can test it to see if it work. I have been thinking of jsut building a I7 build and if those parts are good then putting them into another case that I have and try and sell it. All depends on if the motherboard and the processor are still good or the mobo gets replaced. Yeah I know very stupid thing for me to do and was really hurt when it happened. It was like someone stabbed me in the back with a rusty knife.
