Is the Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 the fastest Dual Core processor available on the market as of December 2007?

I always thought that the E6850 was the best one, but now I am confused. Because I have seen this: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Core_2
(Just scroll down, it's in dutch) And you'l notice the Core 2 Duo E8500. Shouldn't that be better?

I would take everything you read on Wikipedia with doubt until it's verified from a reliable source. Anybody can edit anything on Wikipedia.

Why not just get an E6750 and overclock it? They can easily hit 3.2GHz and will save you a ton of money.

I am not looking at upgrading my processor currently. Just curious which Dual Core was the fastest. And I sure wouldn't buy an Intel E6850 Dual Core as some Quad Core processors are less expensive.
I also probably won't ever overclock any of my components. I have read too many horror stories and it just isn't worth possibly damaging or shortening the life of my system components to get it to go 10 percent faster than it is currently running.

D) it still works perfectly. As well as this one that's overclocked... and my sig... and my E4300...
